Fortnite OCE and Asia Reload tournaments were cancelled due to a ‘bot bug’

Epic Games announced via X (formerly Twitter) on April 9th that they are cancelling the scheduled Fortnite Reload Performance Evaluation Cup due to a ‘bug’ that disrupted the event’s preparations. Further details about rescheduling have not yet been shared.
In the tweet, Epic Games stated, ‘We are cancelling today’s OCE and ASIA Reload Performance Evaluation cups while we work to resolve an issue with non-player Bot opponents filling into the match.’
Currently, the only affected areas are Oceania and Asia. However, if this issue continues, the European and North American cups may be affected as well. So far, there are no problems with these areas.
This is not the first time it has happened, as Epic Games also encountered issues during the Fortnite Performance Evaluation Cup in 2024. In November of that year, the tournament was shut down due to a game-breaking glitch where multiple maps merged and hindered gameplay.
The Fortnite Performance Evaluation Cup is important for developers and players. The collected data from the gameplay will be used to improve in-game events, modes like the Fortnite Ballistic, and future esports tournaments such as the prestigious FNCS Pro-Am 2025.
