Zimbabwe women to host Ireland women for ODI series in October

Zimbabwe women will take on Ireland women in a four-match ODI series starting October 5. The series concludes on October 11. 

The series will mark the introduction of Zimbabwe women in the official One-Day International fold after being granted the ODI status in April 2021.

On the other hand, Ireland women will feature in their first ODI series since 2018. They lost to New Zealand 0-3 back then under the captaincy of Laura Delany who leads the current side as well. 

Zimbabwe women emerged victorious in the recently concluded ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier by beating Namibia and made their way into the global qualifiers scheduled to be held in 2022. 

The tour will act as a golden opportunity for both the teams to get into their best of form and fitness as they gear up for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Global Qualifier to be held in November.

All matches of the four-match ODI series will be played at the Harare Sports Club.
