The Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan ODI 2024 series will start in Harare on Tuesday, December 17.

As per the Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan ODI 2024 schedule, the upcoming three-match series will be played at the Harare Sports Club on December 17, 19 and 21.

Afghanistan are currently ranked eighth in the ICC men’s T20I team rankings while Zimbabwe are four spots below on 12th.

The Afghanistan cricket team will head into the ODI series high on confidence after registering a come-back-behind T20I series victory last week.

While Zimbabwe won the first ODI by four wickets, the Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan bounced back to defeat the hosts by 50 runs and three wickets in the next two ODIs to clinch the three-match series 2-1.

Afghanistan will be led by Hashmatullah Shahidi in the upcoming three-match ODI series in Harare.

Star off-spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman has made a comeback in the ODI squad after recovering from his right phalanx sprain.

However, the visitors will miss the services of their star opener Ibrahim Zadran who is yet to recover from his ankle injury.

On the other hand, the Zimbabwe cricket team will aim to bounce back in the ODI series under captain Craig Ervine after their poor show in the recently-concluded T20I series.

Left-hand batter Ben Curran and left-arm fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri have received their maiden ODI call-ups.

Right-arm pacer Victor Nyauchi has also made a comeback in Zimbabwe’s ODI squad since playing his last ODI in January 2023.
