Following a suspension to Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) due to “political interferences”, Sports and Recreation Commission of Zimbabwe (SRC) has decided to reinstate the board.
The government run agency which had earlier suspended Zimbabwe Cricket for alleged complaints about the nomination process and violation of ZC’s constitution, has now decided to bring the cricket board back to operations.

"Accordingly, and pursuant to the said court order, the SRC hereby lifts the suspension of the directors of ZC, including that of the acting managing director Givemore Makoni, with immediate effect," read the statement released by SRC on August 8. "The interim committee accordingly ceases to administer the affairs of Zimbabwe Cricket forthwith."
They had until 8th of October, set by the International Cricket board (ICC), to “unconditionally reinstate” the governing board led by Tavengwa Mukuhlani
ICC warned Zimbabwe Cricket in a letter on July 24 that read, "Should the ICC not receive a satisfactory response from you on the above terms, within the stipulated time frame, the ICC reserves its right to take such further action as it deems appropriate including to proceed by way of termination of your membership as provided for in the Articles of Association."
In response to this, ZC’s suspended directors moved to court and appealed against SRC’s decision, finding a way for Zimbabwe to resume cricket on international front. The ICC will now take further decision after a meeting on 12th October, four days after the deadline.
Zimbabwe, who have already lost their places in World T20 qualifiers and women’s qualifiers, will look to work for development of the game and infrastructure in the country.
