Following Harbhajan Singh’s recommendation of Sanju Samson for India’s ever-agonized No.4 spot, World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh took a subtle dig at the matter by joking that the team doesn’t need a No.4 batsman.
Samson’s 48-ball 91 recently guided India to a convincing 36-run win (DLS method) over South Africa A. Playing a crucial 135-run second wicket partnership with Shikhar Dhawan, the 24-year-old was duly applauded by Harbhajan Singh, who took to Twitter, saying, “Why not @IamSanjuSamson at number 4 in Odi. With good technique and good head on his shoulders. Well played today anyways against SA A.”
Top order is very strong bro they don’t need no 4 batsman 🤣

Responding to the spinner, former all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh joked that India’s top order is so strong that they don’t need a No.4 batsman in the team. "Top order is very strong bro they don't need no. 4 batsman," Yuvraj wrote.
Meanwhile, former opener Gautam Gambhir too had some kind words in store for the 24-year-old. Responding to Harbhajan’s tweet, Gambhir said, "Yes @harbhajan_singh on current form and his skills this Southern Star, @IamSanjuSamson can bat even on Moon's the South Pole!!! I wonder if they had space on Vikram to carry this marvel of a batsman. Well done Sanju on scoring 91 off 48 balls against South Africa A side."

As India A clinched the series 4-1, Samson decided to donate his match fee to the groundsmen, who worked tirelessly to make sure the wet outfield and rain doesn’t have much effect on the game.
“We have to give credit to the groundsmen. Because of them, we were able to play. If there was some wetness here or there, then the match officials would not have allowed matches to happen. We really have to thank them. So, I have decided to give my match fees to the groundsmen,” the batsman said after the game.
