Sciver-Brunt leads MI’s 8-wicket win

MI extended their unbeaten run in the 2025 Women's Indian cricket league with a commanding 8-wicket win on February 27 in Bengaluru. Nat Sciver-Brunt delivered an all-round performance, pushing MI to the top of the standings with three straight wins.
After winning the toss, Mumbai surprised many by opting to bowl first. Their decision paid off as they restricted the opposing team to 142/9 in 20 overs. Sciver-Brunt was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets, while Shabnim Ismail and Hayley Matthews provided crucial support. Deepti Sharma and Grace Harris fought back, but the MI's strong bowlers kept them in check.
However, Mumbai faced an early setback when Yastika Bhatia was dismissed cheaply by Sharma during their innings. In return, Sciver-Brunt and Matthews took charge with a solid 133-run stand. Though Matthews fell short with a 59 off 50 balls, Sciver-Brunt pulled through with an unbeaten 75 off 44 balls.The match ended with Mumbai at 143/2 in 17 overs. They’re set to face Delhi on Friday, February 28, at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
