The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up matches are scheduled to start on September 29 and run till October 1 in Dubai.
Six-time champions Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies are the 10 teams that will feature in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up matches ahead of the marquee 20-over tournament.
As per the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up schedule, each of the 10 teams that have qualified for the tournament will play two practice games.
The Sevens Stadium, ICC Academy Ground and ICC Academy Ground No 2 are the three venues that will host the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up matches.
Pakistan will square off against Scotland in the first Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up game while Sri Lanka will clash with Bangladesh on the same day on September 29.
Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, India will take on West Indies in their first warm-up fixture on September 29 and will later lock horns with South Africa Women on October 1.
Defending champions Australia Women will square off against arch-rivals England in their first warm-up encounter at the ICC Academy Ground on September 29. The Alyssa Healy-led side will then play their second warm-up fixture against West Indies Women at the The Sevens Stadium on October 1.
The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will see as many as 10 teams compete in a total of 23 matches over 18 days across two venues in the UAE.
The marquee T20 tournament has been moved out of Bangladesh due to ongoing political unrest and is now relocated to the UAE for the same dates.
Australia will head into the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup as defending champions after they beat South Africa by 19 runs in the 2023 final in Cape Town to clinch their sixth title.
Apart from Australia, England claimed the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2009 while West Indies won the title in 2016.
