The Women’s Super Smash 2021-22 is scheduled to start on November 26 with the final slated to take place on January 29.
New Zealand's annual women’s domestic T20 tournament will feature six teams namely Canterbury Magicians, Wellington Blaze, Auckland Hearts, Northern Brave, Otago Sparks and Central Hinds battling it out for the title.
The tournament will be played in a round-robin format with each team taking on the other twice. As per the format, the top-placed team in the standings will directly qualify for the final while second and third-placed sides will play in the elimination final to advance to the summit clash.
Canterbury Magicians head into the new season as defending champions, having ended Wellington Blaze’s three-year title streak to lift the title. Interestingly, Wellington Blaze are the most successful side in the tournament, having won the trophy on six occasions.
