The Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) starts on Thursday, October 14 and concludes with the final on Saturday, November 27.
The seventh edition of WBBL will have two-time champions Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars clash in the curtain-raiser, while defending champions Sydney Thunder entertain Adelaide Strikers in match 3 on October 16 at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
A total of 59 WBBL games will be played over 45 days from October 14 to November 27, 2021. The first 24 league matches will be held in Tasmania while Adelaide, Perth and Mackay will host the remaining league 32 fixtures. The venues for the eliminator, challenger and final are yet to be disclosed.
The eight participating teams are Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers.
All teams will partake in double round-robin fixtures, with the top four sides progressing to the knockouts, with the eliminator and challenger scheduled for November 24 and 25.
The final of the Women’s Big Bash League 2021 will be played on Saturday, November 27.
The WBBL 2021 will have as many as 21 overseas players participating in the tournament. India will have one of the largest foreign contingents in the 2021 edition of WBBL with eight women cricketers.
