West Indies (WI) takes on Sri Lanka (SL) in a Super 12 Group 1 encounter of the ongoing ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021 on Thursday, November 4 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
WI vs SL Dream11 prediction
Despite having some of the best names for the shortest format of the game, the Windies have failed to perform as a unit. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, haven’t done well either as they have won just one of their four matches so far. That said, the Lankans have played tougher opponents in England, South Africa and Australia.
Considring how West Indies have looked in the competition so far, and Sri Lanka’s varied bowling and batting departments, it’s safe to say that the latter may have a slight edge on Thursday.
WI vs SL Dream11 team tips for ICC T20 World Cup 2021
Top tip: Best batter
SL’s top-order batsman, Charith Asalanka has made it to the Dream Team in all his last four outings, which in turn has made him the second-most picked batsman for his match after West Indies’ Evin Lewis. Considering how underwhelming West Indies have been with the ball, Asalanka will pose a big threat on Thursday.
Top tip: Best bowler
Akeal Hosein has been one of the few bright spots in the West Indies team. Like Asalanka, the 28-year-old bowler has made it to the Dream Team in all his matches in the competition, so it comes as no surprise that a total of 84.93% of fantasy players have decided to include him in their team.
Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper
SL’s Wanindu Hasaranga has been a revelation in the competition. The 24-year-old all-rounder has picked eight wickets in four matches and has chipped in with 48 runs as well. He has a return of 339 fantasy points from just four matches and is a worthy contender for captaincy.
For a wicket-keeper, you can go with West Indies gloveman Nicholas Pooran. The 26-year-old keeper has played a few important and quickfire innings in the competition and makes for a wise pick for Thursday’s contest.
WI vs SL probable playing XI
WI playing XI (probable): Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Roston Chase, Shimron Hetmyer, Kieron Pollard (captain), Andre Russell, Nicholas Pooran (wicket-keeper), Dwayne Bravo, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Ravi Rampaul
