New Zealand (NZ) will hope to return to winning ways when they take on West Indies (WI) in the second ODI of a three-match series on Friday, August 19 at Kensington Oval Barbados. The match will start from 11:30 PM IST.
WI vs NZ Dream11 prediction
West Indies caught the New Zealand side off guard in the opening ODI, beating them by five wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Windies were extremely clinical with the ball as they bundled out the Kiwis for a measly 190 before winning the match with five wickets in hand and 66 balls remaining.
Come Friday, one can expect New Zealand to fight back, especially now that the Kane Williamson-led side is aware of the conditions as well as the fact that they need a win to keep the series alive heading into the decider.
WI vs NZ Dream11 team tips for 2nd ODI
Top tip: Best batter
West Indies’ top-order batter Shamarh Brooks looked solid in the opening match, scoring 79 runs off 91 balls, hence it comes as no surprise that a whopping 84.75 per cent of fantasy players have decided to add him to their teams for the upcoming match. At just 8.5 credits, he is an absolute steal.
Top tip: Best bowler
Now that it’s evident that fast bowlers will have a big impact at the venue, West Indies’ Alzarri Joseph becomes an outright pick for this position. The 25-year-old picked three wickets in the first ODI and ended with a tally of 97 fantasy points. Given the nature of the surface, he is most likely to be amongst the wickets again and should get you plenty of fantasy points.
Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper
At a mere 8.5 credits, New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner is our suggestion for all-rounders. The 30-year-old scored 25 runs and followed it up with a wicket to end with 67 fantasy points. Although it was less than what Jason Holder had accrued, his relatively cheap base price can allow fantasy players to invest heavily in other departments.
Lastly, the credits saved by choosing Santner can be utilized to pick Shai Hope as your wicket-keeper. The Windies keeper, at 9.5 credits, has been in excellent form of late and given that he opens the batting for his team, Hope is likely to get more points than his opposite number.
WI vs NZ probable playing XI
WI playing XI (probable): Shai Hope (wicket-keeper), Kyle Mayers, Shamarh Brooks, Keacy Carty, Nicholas Pooran (captain), Jermaine Blackwood, Jason Holder, Kevin Sinclair, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Yannic Cariah
NZ playing XI (probable): Martin Guptill, Finn Allen, Kane Williamson (captain), Devon Conway, Tom Latham (wicket-keeper), Daryl Mitchell, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult
