The West Indies vs South Africa T20Is 2024 will start on August 24 and run till August 28 in Tarouba, Trinidad.
West Indies are all set to host South Africa for a three-match T20I series at home, with all the fixtures scheduled to be played in Tarouba.
Hosts West Indies are currently ranked fourth in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings, while the Proteas are placed a spot below them in fifth.
After losing the Test series 0-1, the Windies are going to be without several big names in the T20Is against South Africa in Trinidad.
Star all-rounder Andre Russell, Jason Holder, and Alzarri Joseph have been rested for the series. However, Shimron Hetmyer, who didn’t play a single game in the T20 World Cup 2024, has retained his place in the squad.
Meanwhile, the visitors have also rested a few of their regulars in Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, and Marco Jansen.
Additionally, star players like Heinrich Klaasen, Anrich Nortje, David Miller and Tabraiz Shamsi have also been excluded from the squad.
Interestingly, Kwena Maphaka, who was the Player of the Tournament at the U-19 World Cup 2024, has been called for a senior international debut.
As per the West Indies vs South Africa T20Is 2024 schedule, the first T20I will be played on August 24 whereas the final T20I of the three-match series will be played on August 28.
