The West Indies vs Bangladesh ODI 2024 series will start in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis on Sunday, December 8.

As per the West Indies vs Bangladesh ODI 2024 schedule, the upcoming three-match series will be played at the Warner Park in Basseterre.

Bangladesh are ninth in the ICC men’s ODI team rankings while West Indies are placed one spot below on 10th.

Both West Indies and Bangladesh will head into the ODIs after a closely-fought Test series which ended 1-1. 

While the hosts won the first Test at the Coolidge Cricket Ground by 201 runs, the visitors bounced back to win the second Test by 101 runs at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Ahead of the ODI series, the West Indies cricket team has announced their 15-man squad to be led by Shai Hope while Brandon King will be his deputy.

The hosts have made two changes to the ODI squad that defeated England 2-1 in the Caribbean in November.

Uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo and all-rounder Justin Greaves have replaced top-order batter Jewel Andrew and leg-spinner Hayden Walsh Jnr.

Amir Jangoo and Justin Greaves have been included in the ODI squad after their impressive performances in domestic cricket.

On the other hand, the Bangladesh cricket team will miss the services of their regular captain Najmul Hossain Shanto due to a groin injury. 

In the absence of Najmul Hossain Shanto, all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will lead Bangladesh in the upcoming ODI series.

Left-handed batter Afif Hossain Dhrubo has made a comeback in the ODI squad after a year in place of Zakir Hasan, who produced some underwhelming performances against Afghanistan last month.

Meanwhile, young pacer Nahid Rana has retained his place in Bangladesh’s ODI squad after his brilliant debut against Afghanistan.

As far as the West Indies vs Bangladesh ODI head-to-head record is concerned, both teams have registered 21 wins each in the 44 matches that they have played against each other so far. Two matches have ended in no results.

The last time these two sides met in the 50-over format, Bangladesh secured a 3-0 win in the Caribbean in July 2022.
