Cricket West Indies has confirmed South Africa, Australia and Pakistan as the teams who will visit the Caribbean this summer across June, July and August.
The West Indies Cricket team will kick off their summer season by hosting South Africa, playing two Test matches and a five-match T20I series. South Africa’s tour will begin with the first Test match on June 10 and the tour will end on July 3.
The South African tour will be followed by Australia travelling to the West Indies for the first time in five years. Keeping an eye on the upcoming T20 World Cup later this year, the Aussies will be playing five T20 Internationals (T20I) and three One-day International (ODI) series from July 9 till July 24.
The preparations for the T20 World Cup also influenced Pakistan’s schedule for their West Indies tour. On Friday, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced that they have replaced a Test match with two extra T20 internationals.
Pakistan will be travelling to West India after Australia and will play two Test matches and a five-match T20I series between July 21 and August 24.
The West Indies cricket team’s last outing was against Sri Lanka before the Indian T20 League. The Keiron Pollard-led side won a three-match T20I series 2-1 before inflicting a whitewash over the Lankans in the three-match ODI series.
