The first day of the Virtual Five5 Cricket World Cup 2020 saw 18 interesting games being played out throughout the day. In the following, we highlight some of the key moments from various games that took place on Tuesday, April 7.
AUS v SL, Match 2: AUS win by 7 wickets
It was a game to forget for SL batsmen who posted 43/4 in their five overs but also saw as many as three run outs. Something the team will want to avoid going into the next game. AUS lost three wickets in the chase but captain Armand Finch saw them home.
BAN v SA, Match 3: SA win by 29 runs
SA got their campaign off to a brilliant start with a 29-run win over BAN. The two openers shared an unbeaten 56-run stand in the allotted overs. In reply, BAN could only post 27, losing four wickets in the process to lose by a big margin.
PAK v IND, Match 7: IND win by 9 wickets
There is no tournament without a game between IND and PAK and Virtual Five5 Cricket World Cup was no different. PAK batted first and posted 38/3 with star player Baba Azem top-scoring with 21. In reply, IND lost Rohan Sharma, but not before he had set up the game with a 9-ball 22.

ENG v SL, Match 13: SL win by 4 runs
SL never got going after having been asked to bat first and scratched their way to a modest 39/4. Thanks to efforts of Angelo Mathew with the bat and later with the ball when he defended 11 runs in the final over, restricting ENG to 35/2.
AFG vs AUS, Match 10: AFG win by 7 wickets
AUS could only manage 42/3 after having been asked to bat first. Armand Finch got half of those runs. Hazratullah Zaza's crucial onslaught at the top ensured his team reached the target on the final ball.
WI v PAK, Match 16: PAK win by 5 runs
Shoaeb Malek's late flurry of boundaries took PAK to a fighting total of 48/1. Their spin twins just conceded 10 runs in the middle, limiting WI to 43/4.
