Virat Kohli took to his social media accounts on Monday afternoon to inform that he and his wife Anushka Sharma were blessed with a baby girl. The actor-producer gave birth to Virat Kohli’s daughter at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital.

Kohli took to his social media accounts to share this good news and further requested for privacy. 

“We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl. Anushka and the baby both are healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives.We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time.” Kohli wrote in a short statement.

The couple who had tied the knot in 2017, had earlier made the announcement of the birth of their first child in August last year. 

“And then we were three” The pair posted a beautiful picture of them together with this caption on their respective handles.

India who are currently touring Australia are without their regular skipper Kohli as he was granted paternity leave after the first Test. Kohli flew back last month to be with his wife Anushka in Mumbai. 

While some former cricketers and fans have criticised Kohli for taking paternity leave, the Indian cricket team captain has been very clear in his mind with the decision.

“As committed as you are to play for your country this is a very, very special moment in life that you want to be there for at any cost. It’s a blessed time and we’re very excited.” Kohli said during a chat with Steve Smith before the start of the Border-Gavaskar series.

Ravichandran Ashwin, Hardik Pandya, Suresh Raina and other celebrities took to Twitter to congratulate the couple after the Virat Kohli Anushka Sharma baby news.

Coincidently, Virat Kohli’s daughter will share her birthday with India legend Rahul Dravid.
