A victory parade for Team India in honour of their T20 World Cup 2024 triumph was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The Indian cricket team will arrive in Delhi on Thursday, July 4 after defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling T20 World Cup 2024 final in Barbados on June 29.

After clinching their second T20 World Cup title, Team India were stranded in Barbados due a hurricane.

The BCCI later arranged a special flight of Air India from Barbados to bring the Indian cricket team along with several Indian media personnel.

Meanwhile, Team India will reach the national capital around 6 AM on Thursday. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team will later meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11 AM and will also have breakfast with him.

Soon after the meeting with the Prime Minister, Rohit Sharma and his men will board a chartered flight for a victory parade for Team India in Mumbai.

The BCCI will honour and felicitate the players with prize money of INR 125 crore.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah invited the fans to join Team India as they celebrate the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph.

“Join us for the Victory Parade honouring Team India's World Cup win! Head to Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards to celebrate with us! Save the date,” Jay Shah posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Rohit Sharma also posted a special message for fans to join them in the victory parade for Team India.

“So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00 pm onwards.It’s coming home ❤️🏆,” the Indian cricket team captain posted.

Victory Parade for Team India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win live

A victory parade for Team India will see the Men in Blue take part in an open-top bus parade in Mumbai.

The victory parade for Team India is likely to start at the National Centre for Performing Arts and conclude at the Wankhede Stadium. The parade will begin 5 PM onwards.

Later, the BCCI will honour and felicitate the players with the prize money of INR 125 crore at the Wankhede Stadium. 

A similar victory parade for Team India was held in 2007 after the MS Dhoni-led Indian cricket team defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in the final to claim the inaugural T20 World Cup title in Johannesburg.

However, the victory parade followed a longer route of around 30 KM as fans were also involved in the part of the celebration from Mumbai Airport to the Wankhede Stadium.
