As MS Dhoni prepares his men for a visit of Rohit Sharma’s team Mumbai at MA Chidambaram Stadium, a certain Suresh Raina will be vying for a personal record in the same edition he became the first player to cross the 5000-run mark in the Indian T20 League.
Chennai, who currently acquire the top spot after 11 fixtures, have all but confirmed their place in the playoffs. While all this remain viable, their batsman, Suresh Raina is chasing another unique record. The 32-year-old is on the verge of becoming the first player in the history of Indian T20 League to reach the century of catches.
As things stand, the left-hander has taken 99 catches in 187 matches thus far and sits comfortably on top ahead of the second-placed Ab de Villiers – who has taken 84 catches in 151 games.

Furthermore, there is another record for Raina to achieve, as he only needs one half-century to complete 50 half-centuries in T20s. Just in, with 803 runs, he is the leading run-scorer against Mumbai in the Indian T20 League.
Meanwhile, Chennai will be looking to build upon their current home form which has seen them going undefeated at the venue in the current season.
