Following on the footsteps of players like Shahid Afridi, Shane Watson and Brendon McCullum, South African pace star, Dale Steyn has also decided to join the Euro T20 Slam; a franchise based T20 competition co-hosted by Cricket Ireland, Cricket Scotland and the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB).

Steyn will be one of marquee players in the leagues. The others include Afridi, Chris Lynn, Watson, Babar Azam, McCullum and Luke Ronchi. If earlier reports are to be believed, the now-retired Indian limited-overs star Yuvraj Singh too will be seen in action during the competition. Other high-profile names that are expected to join the league include, Eoin Morgan, JP Duminy, Imran Tahir and Rashid Khan.
The Euro T20 Slam is scheduled to begin on August 30 with the final slated for September 22. The competition will have six city-based franchise teams, two each from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands. The cities include Belfast, Dublin, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
