The Sri Lanka vs West Indies ODI 2024 cricket series will start in Pallekele, Sri Lanka on Sunday, October 20.

As per the Sri Lanka vs West Indies ODI 2024 schedule, all matches of the upcoming three-match series will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on October 20, 23 and 26.

Sri Lanka are currently placed seventh in the ICC men’s ODI team rankings while West Indies are four spots below on 10th.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka national cricket team will head into the ODI series brimming with confidence after clinching the recently-concluded T20I series 2-1 against West Indies in Dambulla.

Ahead of the three-match ODI series, Sri Lanka have announced their 16-member squad to be led by Charith Asalanka.

Batting all-rounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe has received his maiden One-Day International (ODI) call-up to the Sri Lanka squad.

The hosts have also received a massive boost with the return of their rising left-arm pacer Dilshan Madushanka who has recovered from his hamstring injury.

Furthermore, star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been included in the ODI squad after he missed the last two ODIs against India due to a hamstring injury.

However, Sri Lanka will once again miss the services of their bowling spearhead Matheesha Pathirana due to his shoulder injury.

The likes of all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne and spinner Akila Dananjaya have been left out from Sri Lanka’s squad while Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara have also not been included in the 16-man squad.

On the other hand, the West Indies cricket team will aim to bounce back after going down in the three-match T20I series.

West Indies will be led by Shai Hope while fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been named vice-captain of the ODI squad.

Jewel Andrew, the 17-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has been included in the West Indies’ ODI squad.

Apart from Shai Hope and Alzarri Joseph, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Romario Shepherd and Hayden Walsh Jr are some of the experienced stars in the Caribbean outfit.
