Though the hosts won the ODI series, the last encounter of the five-match series saw Australia beating the Lankan Lions by four wickets. As far as their form in Test cricket is concerned, Sri Lanka did win their previous match which came against Bangladesh in May. Before that, however, they lost two Test matches against India in March.
Australia, on the other hand, played Pakistan in their previous Test assignment. While the first two matches were drawn, they beat Babar Azam’s men to win the series in the final Test.
