The South Africa vs India T20I series 2024 will kickstart on Friday, November 8.

The first T20I in the four-match series will be played at Kingsmead in Durban at 08:30 PM IST on Friday. Live streaming and telecast of the South Africa vs India match will be available in India.

The next match is scheduled to be played at St George’s Park at Gqeberha on Sunday, November 10.

The action then shifts to SuperSport Park in Centurion for the third T20I on November 13 with the final match slated to happen at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on November 15.

Both teams are up against each other after their high-octane clash in the T20 World Cup final in Barbados in June 2024. India edged out the Proteas by seven runs to claim their second T20 title after a gap of 17 years.

Suryakumar Yadav will lead a young Indian team this time around with the trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja deciding to quit from T20Is after the historic win at Barbados.

Middle-order batter Ramandeep Singh and fast bowler Vijaykumar Vyshak received their maiden national call-up while Yash Dayal was included in the Indian T20 team for the first time after his stint with the Test team in the Bangladesh series.

Axar Patel and Avesh Khan, who were not part of the team in the T20Is against Bangladesh, are also part of the 15-member side that tours the rainbow nation.

For South Africa, Aiden Markram will continue to lead the side after taking them to their first-ever final in the men’s Cricket World Cup earlier this year. Pacers Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee are back in the side after nursing injuries.

Star batters Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller along with spinner Keshav Maharaj are also back in the side after not being part of the two-match T20I series against Ireland. The all-rounder pair of Mihlali Mpongwana and Andile Simelane have received their maiden call-up to the Proteas national set-up.

Both India and South Africa will step into the contest after a Test series in the sub-continent. The Men in Blue were handed a 0-3 clean sweep by visiting New Zealand while South Africa beat Bangladesh 2-0 away from home.

In T20 cricket, however, India is in fabulous form after drubbing Bangladesh 3-0 in their last assignment whereas South Africa were held 1-1 by a spirited Ireland in a bilateral series at Abu Dhabi.

Currently, India are ranked first in the ICC men’s T20I rankings whereas South Africa are in sixth place.
