Sri Lanka (SL) take on Zimbabwe (ZIM) in the second ODI of the three-match series on Tuesday, January 18 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. The match will start at 2:30 PM IST.
SL vs ZIM Dream11 prediction
Despite having difficulties with the ball, the Lankan Lions were at their brutal best with the bat in the first ODI, winning the match by five wickets with nine balls to spare. The home team was forced to use as many as eight bowlers to stop Zimbabwe from scoring in the first match, but witnessed three of their batters crossing the 70-run mark as they broke little to no sweat in chasing 297.
Come Tuesday, we expect them to clinch the series by winning the second match on the bounce.
SL vs ZIM Dream11 team tips for second ODI
Top tip: Best batter
Opening batsman Pathum Nissanka was the highest-scoring batter in the first ODI, accumulating an impressive 95 fantasy points after scoring 75 off 71 balls. Batting at a strike rate of 105.63, Nissanka hit a whopping 10 fours during his innings. Hence, it comes as no surprise that 88.69 per cent of fantasy users have decided to add him to their teams.
Top tip: Best bowler
Zimbabwe’s Richard Ngarava picked three wickets in the first ODI to finish with a tally of 108 fantasy points, which was the most by any bowler involved in the fixture. The 24-year-old is likely to build on his current form with a similar performance expected in the second ODI.
Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper
Selected by a whopping 97.82 per cent of fantasy users, Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams is the most picked player for this fixture. This comes after the 35-year-old scored an 87-ball century in the first ODI and followed it up with an economical spell with the ball to finish with a tally of 127 fantasy points.
As for a wicket-keeper, while ZIM’s Regis Chakabva is a majority choice, our recommendation would be SL’s Kusal Medis. The 26-year-old did fail to score runs in the previous game, but will look for redemption when he enters the field on Tuesday.
SL vs ZIM probable playing XI
SL playing XI (probable): Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kamindu Mendis (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Chandimal, Charitha Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka (captain), Chamika Karunaratne, Jeffrey Vandersay, Maheesh Theekshana, Chamika Gunasekara, Nuwan Pradeep
