Defending champions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will lock horns with Balochistan in Pakistan’s National One Day Championship 2022 final at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday, April 1. The match will start at 10:00 AM IST.
Led by Khalid Usman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Central Punjab by six wickets in the first semi-final to secure their place in the summit clash. The reigning champions earlier finished third in the league phase with 12 points from nine matches - registering six wins and three defeats.
On the other hand, Balochistan have been the dominant side in the tournament so far, finishing at the top of the points table with 14 points from nine matches. The Yasir Shah-led side secured seven victories and two losses before beating Sindh by 13 runs in their semi-final encounter.
Earlier in the tournament, Balochistan defeated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by eight wickets in their first meeting before the latter took revenge by securing a 49-run victory in their last encounter.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa captain Khalid Usman has been the highest wicket-taker in the 50-over competition so far, bagging 23 wickets in 11 matches at an economy of 4.76.
For Balochistan, Haseebullah Khan has been the standout batter, amassing 569 runs in 11 matches at an impressive average of 56.90 while skipper Yasir Shah has been the wrecker-in-chief with the ball - picking 20 wickets in 11 matches at an economy of 5.03.
