The Nepal women’s national cricket team will lock horns with Pakistan in their second Group A match of the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup 2024 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

Led by captain Indu Barma, Nepal started their Women’s Asia Cup 2024 campaign in an emphatic fashion as they defeated United Arab Emirates (UAE) by six wickets in the opening game of the tournament to register their first-ever win in the competition.
Electing to bowl first, Nepal rode on skipper Indu Barma’s three-wicket haul while the likes of Sabnam Rai, Kabita Joshi and Kritika Marasini picked up one wicket each to restrict UAE to a below par total of 115/8 in their 20 overs.
In reply, opening batter Samjhana Khadka slammed an unbeaten 72 off just 45 balls to help Nepal chase down the target in 16.1 overs and secure a comprehensive win in Dambulla.
On the other hand, the Pakistan women's national cricket team will aim to bounce back after suffering a seven-wicket defeat against arch-rivals India in their opening Group A match at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday.
Opting to bat first, Pakistan were bowled out for 108 in 19.2 overs. Sidra Ameen top-scored for Pakistan with 25 while Tuba Hassan and Fatima Sana scored 22 each.
For India, all-rounder Deepti Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief with three wickets.
Later, India successfully chased down the target in 14.1 overs courtesy contributions from openers Smriti Mandhana (45) and Shafali Verma (40).
With their first-ever win in Women’s Asia Cup history, Nepal are currently placed second in the Group A standings with two points, while Pakistan are languishing at the bottom of the standings.
