The Nepal national cricket team will square off against Oman in the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 in King City, Ontario on Wednesday, October 2.
The Nepal vs Oman T20 2024 will start at 9:30 PM Indian Standard Time (9:45 PM Nepal time).
Led by captain Rohit Paudel, Nepal will look to bounce back after suffering a four-wicket defeat against hosts Canada in the ongoing Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 at the Maple Leaf Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
Put in to bat, Nepal rode on openers Anil Sah’s 41 off 30 balls, Aasif Sheikh’s run-a-ball 30 and Gulsan Jha’s unbeaten 23 off 16 balls to post a fighting total of 139/6 in their 20 overs.
Later, Saad Bin Zafar (33 not out), captain Nicholas Kirton (26), Dilpreet Bajwa (25) and Ravinderpal Singh (20 not out) helped Canada chase down the target in 19.3 overs and register a comprehensive win in the end.
Earlier, Nepal also lost to the hosts in the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 opener by 14 runs on Saturday.
The Rohit Paudel-led side later returned to winning ways as they defeated Oman by 37 runs in their second fixture of the ongoing tri-series on Sunday.
With two points from three games, Nepal are currently placed second in the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 standings and need to win against Oman on Wednesday to stay alive in the tri-series.
On the other hand, the Oman national cricket team will head into the upcoming fixture high on confidence after they beat Canada by eight wickets in their previous clash at the Maple Leaf Cricket Ground on Monday.
Opting to bowl first, Kaleemullah, Fayyaz Butt and captain Aqib Ilyas picked up two wickets each to help Oman bowl out Canada for 106 in 19.5 overs.
In reply, Aqib Ilyas scored 53 off 46 balls and Shoaib Khan’s 30 guided Oman to an eight-wicket win in the ongoing tri-series.
Having registered one win and one loss, Oman are placed third in the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 standings with two points. However, if they win their final two games, Oman will clinch the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024.

The Nepal vs Oman T20 head-to-head favours the former. Nepal have won four of the seven T20Is that have played against each other so far. Oman have registered two victories. One match ended in a tie which Oman later won in the Super Over.
The last time these two sides met, Nepal beat Oman by 37 runs in the ongoing Canada T20 Tri-Series 2024 in King City, Ontario on Sunday.
