The Nepal national cricket team will lock horns with hosts Canada in the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 opener on Saturday, September 28.
The Nepal vs Canada T20 2024 will start at 9:30 PM Indian Standard Time (9:45 PM Nepal time).
Apart from Nepal and Canada, Oman is the other team that will feature in the upcoming Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 to be played at the Maple Leaf Cricket Ground in King City, Ontario.
As per the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024 schedule, each team will play the other sides twice in a double round-robin format. The team finishing on top of the standings after all the six matches will clinch the Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024.
Nepal will play Canada on September 28 and October 1 while facing Oman on September 29 and October 2.
Currently ranked 17th in the ICC men’s T20I team rankings, Nepal are the top-ranked team in the upcoming tri-series, followed by Oman placed two spots below in 19th. Canada are the lowest ranked team in the series as they’re currently placed 22nd in the ICC men’s T20I team rankings.
Meanwhile, the Nepal national cricket team will aim to bounce back after a disappointing show in their second ICC CWC League 2 Tri-Series in Ontario that also featured Canada and Oman.
The Rohit Paudel-led Nepal lost to Canada by 103 runs in their opening fixture and later suffered a one-wicket defeat against Oman.
Nepal once again succumbed to a five-wicket defeat against Canada while their previous fixture against Oman was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
With just three points from eight matches, Nepal are currently languishing seventh in the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 standings.
On the other hand, the Canada national cricket team has been in impressive form in the ongoing ICC CWC League 2 2023-27.
Having registered eight wins and four losses, Canada are currently placed on top of the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 standings with 16 points from 11 matches.
Under the leadership of Nicholas Kirton, the hosts will look to continue their good form in the forthcoming Canada T20I Tri-Series 2024.
