New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham has urged Indian fans to re-sell their World Cup final tickets through the official portal to give other ‘genuine’ fans an opportunity to watch their favourite team play.
Reports are that an abundant of Indian fans had bought the tickets for the final, but a semi-final defeat at hands of New Zealand has grown the sense that those tickets might very well go to waste.
Taking to Twitter, Neesham has requested the fans to ‘be kind’ and return the ticket to the International Cricket Council (ICC) if their plan is to not to attend the final showdown. "Dear Indian cricket fans. If you don't want to come to the final anymore then please be kind and resell your tickets via the official platform. I know it's tempting to try to make a large profit but please give all genuine cricket fans a chance to go, not just the wealthy," Neesham tweeted.

ICC have recently introduced a return policy so that in case someone wants to return the ticket, he/she will get a full refund. Meanwhile, speaking after New Zealand’s victory over India in the semi-final, captain Kane Williamson said that he hopes the fans aren’t too angry.
“I hope they’re not too angry. Obviously, the passion for the game in India is unrivalled and we are all fortunate to play this sport and have a country like India be right behind it,” Williamson said at the post-match press conference.
“But hopefully, we can adopt 1.5 billion supporters and they’ll be supporting us,” he added.
New Zealand will lock horns with England in the final at Lord’s on Sunday.
