The 26th match of Pakistan Super League 2021 will see Multan Sultans (MUL) taking on Quetta Gladiators (QUE) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, June 16, in a bottom of the table clash.
Having won just three of their seven games so far, Multan Sultans sit fifth in the PSL 2021 points table with six points and a net run rate of 0.153. The only team below them are Quetta Gladiators, who sit at the bottom of the table with two points from seven matches and an NRR of -1.865.
MUL vs QUE Dream11 prediction
Quite evidently, Quetta Gladiators are struggling for form this season with the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led team managing to register just one win. And although Multan Sultans sit second from bottom in the league table, they go into this fixture on the back of an 8-wicket victory against Peshawar Zalmi.
However, Multan's form is unlikely to matter against QUE, given their domineering past record in this fixture. In their last five encounters, the Gladiators have beaten Sultans on four occasions with the most recent victory coming in March 2021.
Quetta’s solitary win in PSL 2021 has come against Multan as well and they are expected to repeat the feat on Wednesday.
MUL vs QUE best players for PSL 2021 fantasy team
Top tip: Best batsmen
Multan Sultans' skipper Mohammad Rizwan will be the pick of the batsmen following his marvellous knock of 82 runs against Peshawar in the last game. The opener hit nine boundaries and two sixes, which suggests that he’s in terrific touch at the moment.
With nothing clicking for Quetta at the moment, picking captain Sarfaraz Ahmed will be a safe choice. The middle-order batsman hasn't been the most prolific of run-scorers this season, but his steady hands have helped him score when most of his teammates have struggled.
Top tip: Best bowlers
The star of Multan Sultans' previous game was Shahnawaz Dhani. The bowler returned with figures of 4/31 in four overs as he single-handedly stopped Peshawar's attack from one end. The 22-year-old is in the form of his life and is expected to fetch points aplenty in the remainder of the season.
For Quetta, Mohammad Nawaz has been showing some consistency with the ball this season. His 2/33 with an economy rate of 8.3 was the best bowling performance for his side in the last game and fantasy team owners can rely on him to keep hitting the deck efficiently.
Top tip: All-rounder and wicket-keeper
With star all-rounder Andre Russell getting injured in the last match, Multan Sultans’ veteran Sohail Tanvir could emerge as an interesting all-rounder option. Though mainly a bowler, Tanvir has immense experience at the international level to bat and perform under pressure.
Mohammad Rizwan will undoubtedly be the best bet for the man behind the stumps. In 42 PSL matches, Rizwan has 39 dismissals to his name so far, which is the second-highest in the tournament history after Kamran Akmal. His good batting form further makes him a must-have option.
