Afghanistan have dropped mystery spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman from their Test squad for their upcoming series against Ireland scheduled to be played on the 21st of February in Dehradun. 

Rahman was part of Afghanistan’s only Test against India last year, where he bowled 15 overs and conceded 75 runs picking up a solitary wicket. 

Three uncapped players have been called up to the Afghanistan squad instead. Left arm bowler Waqar Salamkheil, batsman Ikram Ali Khil and all-rounder Sharafuddin Ashraf have been added to the 14-man squad. 

Afghanistan and Ireland will play three T20Is, five ODIs and the one-off Test starting February 21. The Test match will be the second game for both teams having made their long-format debuts in 2018, against India and Pakistan respectively.
