Chennai captain MS Dhoni has made it absolutely clear that he, along with Shane Watson, is never going to go after Imran Tahir after the South African picks a wicket.
Tahir, 40, apart from his spinning genius, is famously known for his extravagant wicket celebration, which sees him running to the other end of the park. And poking fun at the South African's habit, his skipper has said that since he and Watson are par from their fitness, they have decided to congratulate him once he comes back from his usual commemoration.
"It’s great fun to watch him (Tahir) celebrate. We have made it very clear to him that me and Watson are never coming to him because more often than not, when he gets a wicket, he runs to the other side," Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.
"With me and Watson, it's quite difficult since we are not 100 percent fit. So, we just say very well done and go back to our positions. The good thing is he finishes the lap quickly and comes back to bowl," he further added.
Meanwhile, Chennai have sealed their place in the playoffs of the Indian T20 League following an impressive 80-run victory over Delhi. Having scored 179/4 on the back of Suresh Raina's half-century and important knock from Dhoni, the bowling brilliance from Tahir and Jadeja saw Delhi going from 81/5 to 99 all-out.
Jadeja picked three for nine in three overs while Tahir picked his second four-wicket haul of the season by conceding just 12 runs. The South African now sits second in the list of most wicket; four behind his national teammate, Kagiso Rabada.
