The Royal London One Day Cup 2024 began on July 24 and will run till September 22 in England and Wales.

Organised by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the Royal London One Day Cup 2024 is the 10th edition of England's domestic 50-over competition.

The Royal London One Day Cup 2024 will see as many as 18 teams compete in a total of 77 matches in a span of two months.

As per the format, the eighteen first-class counties have been divided into two groups of nine teams each.

Group A has Lancashire, Worcestershire, Kent, Middlesex, Durham, Hampshire, Northamptonshire, Somerset and Derbyshire.

The likes of Essex, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Surrey, Glamorgan, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Gloucestershire and Sussex are clubbed in Group B.

Each team will play the other side in their group once in the Royal London One Day Cup 2024. The winner from each group will directly qualify for the semi-finals, while the second and third-placed teams from each group will play each other in the quarter-finals. 

The winners of the two semi-finals will clash in the Royal London One Day Cup 2024 final on September 22.

Some of the most talented white-ball cricketers including the likes of Ed Barnard, Sol Budinger, Ben Slater, Gareth Roderick and Haseeb Hameed are featuring in the ongoing English domestic One-Day competition.

India's swashbuckling cricketer Prithvi Shaw has been in scintillating form in the ongoing Royal London One Day Cup 2024. The flamboyant right-handed batter has scored 294 runs in five matches for Northamptonshire at a strike rate of 127.27, while also maintaining an average of 58.80. He has smashed three fifties in the competition so far.

Last season, Ed Barnard finished with the most runs in Royal London One Day Cup 2023. Representing Warwickshire, Ed Barnard amassed 616 runs in nine matches at an average of 77 and an impressive strike rate of 100.98. He slammed two centuries and three fifties. 

Meanwhile, Tom Westley holds the record for the most runs in Royal London One Day Cup history. Between 2014 and 2024, the veteran Essex top-order batter has scored 3,037 runs in 80 matches with seven hundreds and 23 fifties to his name.
