The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 began on February 17 and ended on March 18.
As many as six teams were competing in a total of 34 matches across four weeks in the ninth edition of the PSL.
Some of the leading T20 batters including the likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Rilee Rossouw, Reeza Hendricks, Dawid Malan, Alex Hales and Rovman Powell were featuring in Pakistan’s premier T20 League.
Young batter Sahibzada Farhan slammed the first fifty of PSL 2024. Representing Lahore Qalandars, Sahibzada Farhan scored 57 off 36 balls against Islamabad United in the opening match of the T20 tournament at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam also started his PSL 2024 campaign on a good note. Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam led from the front as he scored an impressive half-century (68 off 42 balls) against Quetta Gladiators.
The likes of Reeza Hendricks, Jason Roy, Saud Shakeel, Rassie van der Dussen and Shadab Khan have also produced some scintillating batting performances for their respective franchises in PSL 9.
Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan finished with the most runs in PSL 2023. The flamboyant wicketkeeper-batter scored 550 runs in 12 matches at an average of 55 and a strike rate of 142.85.
Former Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam holds the record for the most runs in PSL history. Since the inception of the T20 tournament in 2016, Azam has scored 3,003 runs in 80 matches with one century and 29 fifties to his name.
Lahore Qalandars’ Fakhar Zaman features second on the list with 2,381 runs in 77 matches between 2017 and 2024.
