The Super Smash T20 is New Zealand’s premier domestic T20 tournament conducted annually since 2005. Over the years, the Super Smash has turned into one of the most competitive and entertaining T20 tournaments in the world, producing some of New Zealand’s finest talents in the shortest formats.
Among batters, George Worker has scored the most runs in Super Smash T20 thus far and Neil Broom is within touching distance of him. While veteran Martin Guptill just about sneaks into the top 10 list, Daryl Mitchell has the best average among batters with over 2,000 runs.

George Worker - 2,949 runs
George Worker has represented three of the six domestic teams in the Super Smash T20. After beginning his career with Central Districts, he went on to play for Canterbury and currently plies his trade with Auckland. He has scored 2,949 runs in 120 matches, which includes one century and 15 half-centuries.
Neil Broom - 2,859 runs
Veteran Neil Broom has been around the scene since the inception of the tournament and has represented Otago and Canterbury over the last 17 years. Broom, despite scoring 2,859 runs in Super Smash T20, never represented New Zealand in T20I cricket, but earned ODI and Test caps.
Michael Bracewell - 2,171 runs
The Bracewell family produced multiple international cricketers for Blackcaps but none of them have had as much success in T20 cricket as Michael Bracewell. In the 2021/22 edition, he went past the 2,000-run mark in Super Smash T20 and made it to the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 squad as well.
Anaru Kitchen - 2,150 runs
Anaru Kitchen began his domestic career with Auckland and since 2015-16, he has been representing Otago. The all-rounder has produced vital contributions with the bat and with his slow left-arm spin over the years. He has scored 2,150 runs in 125 matches, which includes seven half-centuries.
Hamish Rutherford - 2,118 runs
Hamish Rutherford is fondly remembered for his heroic Test debut, where he scored 171 against England in 2013. The left-handed batter has played all domestic cricket only for Otago over the last 14 years and is one of the top run-scorers in Super Smash T20. He has scored 2,118 runs in 94 innings, which includes a century and 10 half-centuries.
