England all-rounder Moeen Ali has decided to take a break from Test cricket after he was deprived of a central contract for red-ball cricket for the upcoming 2019-20 season. Ali won’t be up for selection for England’s Test side which is set to tour New Zealand in November and South Africa in December.

The 32-year-old was dropped from the Test team after the first Ashes Test that England lost to Australia at Edgbaston.
As per reports, Ali wanted to take a break to spend some time with his family. After winning the 2019 Cricket World Cup for England and playing continuous cricket before that, he was slightly exhausted and hence decided to refresh his batteries before making a comeback.
Although, he was included in the list of 12 for white ball cricket along with fellow spinner Adil Rashid, England will be hoping for them to rediscover their form before the T20I World Cup in 2020 to be played in Australia.
