MCA T20 Syawal Peace Cup 2022 is Malaysia’s domestic T20 cricket tournament which is set to begin on Saturday, May 14. Global Stars and United For Cricket will open the proceedings at 7:00 AM IST (Indian Standard Time).
The 16-team tournament will be played at Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur. The participating teams are divided into four groups of four teams each. The groups are as follows:
Group A: Bukit Jalil Sports School, Global Stars, Lanka Lions and Unitead For Cricket
Group B: Asia Pacific University, BD Tigers XI, Knights XI and Royal Warriors
Group C: Active CC, MR KB Putrajaya, Pak Eagles and Sticky Wicket
Group D: Deccan, Malaysian Armed Forces, Royal Strikers and Taamco Warriors
Each team will play the other team from their group once.
The organizers have decided to have a month-long gap in the tournament. This means the competition will pause after May 22 - match 8 - and will resume from Saturday, July 16. There will be no matches between May 22 and July 16.
A total of 24 matches will be played in the group stage round before the competition advances to the knockout stage. A total of four quarter-final rounds will be followed by the semis on August 20. The MCA T20 Syawal Peace Cup 2022 final will be played on Sunday, August 21.
