India’s 2-0 series win over West Indies not just put Virat Kohli’s men on the top of the World Test Championship chart, but it has also made the skipper the most successful captain of the country in the history of Test cricket.
Following India’s 257-run victory (third biggest-win margin) over Jason Holder’s men in Kingston on Monday, Kohli registered his 28th Test victory in a mere 48 game, which is now the most by any Indian captain. The former record belonged to MS Dhoni who had led his team to 27 Test victories in 60 games. The list is followed by Sourav Ganguly (21 victories in 49 games) and Mohammed Azharuddin (14 victories in 47 games).

As for India, their clean sweep in two formats (3-0 in T20Is and 2-0 in Test) becomes the 11th instance where the team has won all their matches played in their tour (not lost a single match in the tour). This last happened when India toured Sri Lanka in 2017 and won all of their nine games.
Meanwhile, the win has taken India to the pinnacle of the World Test Championship with 120 points after two games.
