The Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the home series against Australia on Friday, via Twitter. The announcement sees captain Virat Kohli, pacer Jasprit Bumrah and opening batsman KL Rahul make a comeback to the team.
While Kohli and Bumrah were rested for parts of India's games Down Under, KL Rahul re-joins the team after he was suspended following his 'sexist' comments at an Indian talk show. The other significant changes see Bhuvneshwar Kumar being rested for the first two ODIs, with Siddharth Kaul taking his place. India's wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant also marks a comeback to the ODI team while Dinesh Karthik and Ravindra Jadeja missing out.
The BCCI also announced the T20 squad for India, which sees Umesh Yadav make a comeback to white ball cricket while young leggie Mayank Markande gets his maiden call-up to the Indian team.
The series against Australia begins with the T20 Internationals scheduled to be played from February 24. This will be the last white call series for India before the 2019 World Cup in England.
