Indian skipper Virat Kohli became India’s second-highest run getter in ODIs surpassing former Indian captain and legend Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly took 311 innings to reach 11,363 ODI runs while Kohli reached the mark in just 238 innings.
Kohli reached the landmark in the second ODI against West Indies at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, where India posted a target of 280 on the back of his 120-run knock. The 30-year-old right-handed batsman reached the milestone in the 32nd over, when he hit Jason Holder for a boundary to third man.
He is now one behind the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who has 18,426 ODI runs to his name and is also the overall topper in the list of highest run-getters in ODIs.
Immediately after Kohli reached the feat, Ganguly took to twitter to congratulate him.
