The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) 2025 will start on January 26 and run till February 9 in Mumbai.
As many as six teams will compete in the second edition of the Indian Street Premier League, which is India’s first-ever tennis ball T10 cricket league.
Bangalore Strikers, Chennai Singhams, Falcon Risers Hyderabad, Majhi Mumbai, Srinagar Ke Veer and Tiigers of Kolkata are the teams from the inaugural edition that will once again participate in ISPL 2025.
Ahead of the new season, the ISPL 2025 auction witnessed a total of 350 players from 55 cities go under the hammer held at the Lotus Ballroom, Jio Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai on December 11, 2024.
Abhishek Kumar Dalhor was the most expensive player in the ISPL 2025 auction after Majhi Mumbai acquired him for INR 20.50 lakh. He was also the most expensive player in the inaugural season.
Chennai Singams roped in Ketan Mhatre for INR 17.25 lakh while Irfan Umair was sold to Falcon Risers Hyderabad for INR 16.25 lakh.
The inaugural Indian Street Premier League featured six teams playing a total of 18 matches across 10 days.
Each team played the other five sides once in a round-robin format. The top four teams in the standings after all the 15 league matches qualified for the semi-finals. The ISPL 2024 final was held on March 15.
Tiigers of Kolkata are the defending champions of the Indian Street Premier League after defeating Majhi Mumbai by 10 wickets in the 2024 final in March.
Just like last season, all ISPL 2025 matches will be played at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Mumbai.
Some of the former Indian cricketers and inspirational film stars are involved with ISPL.
Legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was a core Committee Member of ISPL while former India player and coach Ravi Shastri served as a Chief Mentor of the T10 league.
Amitabh Bachchan (Mumbai), Akshay Kumar (Srinagar), Hrithik Roshan (Bengaluru), Ram Charan (Hyderabad), Suriya Sivakumar (Chennai), Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan (Kolkata) are some of the Indian film superstars who are co-owners of the ISPL teams.
