ILT20 2023 gets underway on January 13 - watch live streaming in India

The inaugural edition of the International League T20 (ILT20) will commence on January 13, 2023 with Dubai Capitals taking on Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. The final of the month-long tournament is scheduled for February 12 in Dubai.

Six teams are set to take part in the ILT20 2023 - Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates and Sharjah Warriors. 

A total of 34 games will be played in the inaugural edition with 30 in the league stage before the four playoffs. The teams will face each other in a double round-robin format in the league stage. After its conclusion, the top four teams will make the playoffs.

The playoffs will be held in an Indian T20 League-like format, consisting of an eliminator, two qualifiers and the final. The eliminator will be played on February 9, whereas the two qualifiers are scheduled for February 8 and 10. 

The matches will start at 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST) on days of a single encounter. During double-headers, the first match will begin at 3:30 PM IST. There are five days featuring doubleheaders, all on weekends. 

The Dubai International Stadium, hosting the season opener and the final, will see 16 games. Meanwhile, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium and Sharjah International Stadium will host 10 and eight games, respectively.

The ILT20 2023 features some of the biggest names in the T20 format, including Andre Russell, Trent Boult, Alex Hales, Moeen Ali and Sunil Narine. Due to the high-value contracts of top players in the league, who will earn as much as $450,000, it is expected to be the second-most lucrative cricket league globally.
