Inter-Provincial Trophy T20, 2022, is set to begin on Friday, May 27, with defending champions North West Warriors opening the proceedings against Northern Knights at The Green in Comber.
The Inter-Provincial Trophy is played between four leading provinces of Ireland. Between 2013 and 2016, the tournament was held between just three provinces before the fourth one was added in 2017.
This year, the teams participating are Northern Knights, North West Warriors, Leinster Lightning and Munster Reds.
Leinster Lightning are the most successful team in the Inter-Provincial Trophy T20 history, having won the title a whopping six times. North West Warriors have done it twice, and Northern Knights have won once. Munster Reds are the only team without a winners’ medal.
Inter-Provincial Trophy T20, 2022 will be played in three rounds. This means each team will play a total of nine games (three games per round) and the team finishing on top of the points table at the end will be crowned the champions.
