The Indian women’s cricket team’s Future Tour Programme (FTP) for 2022 to 2025 was recently announced. India will play their only Tests against England and Australia at home in the December 2023-January 2024 window.
A couple of significant series to watch out for in 2022 are their white-ball tours (three ODIs and three T20Is) of England in September and India hosting Australia women for a five-match T20I series in December.
India women will then wrap up their preparations for the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa with a Tri-series involving South Africa and West Indies in January 2023. The Tri-series will be played in the T20I format.
In all, India women are set to play two Tests, 27 One-Day Internationals and 36 Twenty20 Internationals between May 2022 and January 2025. This accounts for a total of 65 matches.
The first-ever FTP schedule for women’s cricket also includes the ICC Women’s Championship that began in June 2022 and will end in 2025.
India began their 2022-25 cycle by registering a 3-0 ODI whitewash away in Sri Lanka. They will also face England and Bangladesh on the road. With regards to Australia, India women will host the reigning ICC Women's Championship winners at home during December 2023 and then travel down under in December 2024.
As per India’s FTP schedule, Australia women are the only team against whom India will play an all-format series (one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is).
As far as white-ball cricket is concerned, India will play a majority of their matches at home with sets of three ODIs and three T20Is against South Africa (September 2023), New Zealand (October 2023), West Indies (December 2024) and Ireland (January 2025).
The 2022-2025 schedule for India will also see the women’s cricket team play the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.
