Team Kolkata defeated two-time defending champions Team Mumbai by seven wickets in match 34 of the Indian T20 League at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, September 23.
Electing to field, Kolkata restricted Mumbai to 155/6 courtesy of some quality bowling from Lockie Ferguson, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy.
In reply, Kolkata rode on twin fifties from Rahul Tripathi (74 not out) and Venkatesh Iyer (53) to chase the target in 15.1 overs.
With this win, Eoin Morgan-led Kolkata leapfrogged Rajasthan and Mumbai to move fourth in the Indian T20 League 2021 points table.
