Kolkata thrashed Bangalore by nine wickets in match 31 of Indian T20 League 2021 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Monday, September 20.
Electing to bat first, Bangalore lost wickets at regular intervals as they were bowled out for just 92. Spinner Varun Chakravarthy and all-rounder Andre Russell were the wrecker-in-chief for the two-time Indian T20 League champions as they bagged three wickets each.
In reply, Kolkata rode on Shubman Gill (48) and debutant Venkatesh Iyer's (41 not out) 82-run opening partnership to record their biggest win in terms of wickets against Bangalore.
