Hyderabad had started the 2022 season on a disappointing note, having lost to Lucknow and Rajasthan in their opening two matches. With two points from three outings, Hyderabad are currently placed eighth in the Indian T20 League 2022 standings.

Chasing a competitive total of 190, Shubman Gill’s 96 off 59 balls and Rahul Tewatia’s 3-ball 13 powered Gujarat to a memorable six-wicket win over Punjab. Rahul Tewatia smashed two sixes off the final two balls as Gujarat required 12 runs off the last two deliveries to win. Gujarat are currently placed second in the standings with six points from three matches.
Gujarat, making their Indian T20 League debut this season, had defeated Lucknow and Delhi comfortably in their first two fixtures of the season.
