The Indian cricket team’s schedule for 2022 began with the second South Africa vs India Test at Johannesburg.
In total, the Rahul Dravid-coached side will play a minimum of 17 T20Is, nine ODIs and five Tests. This excludes the Asia Cup 2022 and the T20 World Cup 2022.
The Men in Blue’s home season will kick off with the West Indies tour of India, where the teams will play a three-match T20I and ODI series. While the T20I series will be played entirely at Kolkata's Eden Gardens, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the three-game ODI series.
The Indian players will then take a break from national duty as they will be involved in the fifteenth edition of the Indian T20 League. The schedule for the tournament is likely to be revealed in February or early March.
The Indian cricket team - who won the Asia Cup in 2016 and 2018 - will defend their title when the competition returns after a four-year hiatus in September 2022. The entire tournament - which will be hosted by Sri Lanka - will be played in the 20-over format.
The T20 World Cup will begin from October 16, 2022 with India playing their first game against Pakistan on October 23.
