Temba Bavuma-led South Africa will be beaming with confidence after their impressive showing in the longest format.
The Proteas have added left-arm pacer Marco Jansen, who has received his maiden call-up in the 50-over format.
South Africa will, however, miss the services of star pacer Anrich Nortje, who has been ruled out of the ODI series after failing to recover from his hip injury.
Bowling all-rounders Dwayne Pretorius and Andile Phehlukwayo have returned to the ODI squad for the India series.
Meanwhile, India will be without their regular ODI skipper Rohit Sharma and will be captained by KL Rahul. Rohit was omitted from the squad due to fitness concerns.
