India's Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill avoided a nasty collision during the Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday.
In the 13th over of the Australian innings, India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin beat Matthew Wade in flight as the Australian opener mistimed a lofted shot.
Jadeja and Gill both charged towards the ball despite a loud call of ‘mine’ from the former. The debutant was committed to completing the catch and could not control his momentum and slightly nudged the Indian all-rounder. Jadeja took a brilliant catch at the end and avoided the collision.
If the best fielder in the world is going for a catch and you are on debut, best to probably leave it for him 🤣 @imjadeja
