After an enthralling first week, the all-important second week of the rescheduled Indian T20 League will see teams fight out to solidify their spot into the top four.
As many as three double-headers will be played in the coming week of the Indian T20 League. SportsAdda ambassador Brett Lee gives us his predictions for week two of the returning competition in SportsAdda presents T20 Crazy, powered by Sportsbet.io.
Chennai to win against Kolkata
“I will go with Chennai. They have got the momentum, they are playing some decent cricket. I think Chennai will win. It’s yellow for me,” Lee said
Resurgent Kolkata have started the UAE leg of the Indian T20 League sublimely, with a convincing 9-wicket win over Bangalore before registering a thumping 7-wicket win over Mumbai. However, despite Kolkata’s blazing form, Binga feels MS Dhoni’s men are likely to triumph over them.
Mumbai to hit maximum sixes against Bangalore
“Got to go with Mumbai. I think Mumbai have got the power hitters and power players. I think Mumbai in Dubai has a nice little ring to it,” Binga opined
With AB de Villiers, Kieron Pollard and Glenn Maxwell, Mumbai and Bangalore both have some firepower. Mumbai, however, holds an edge over Dubai, according to Brett Lee. It was a run-scoring extravaganza when the teams last played at the venue, with over 400 runs scored. As the match went down to the wire, Bangalore won in the Super Over.
Sanju Samson to score fifty against Hyderabad
“I believe he will, and I hope he does because I love watching him bat. He sometimes falls a bit short because he plays an unpredictable stroke, but that’s what you get with him. I am a fan (of his batting), and I think he will get a fifty-plus,” stated an optimistic Lee.
Despite getting out cheaply in Rajasthan’s game against Punjab, Brett Lee backs Sanju Samson to rediscover his best with a fifty-plus score and steer the ship for his side. Samson is currently the top run-getter for Rajasthan in Indian T20 League 2021, with 281 runs in eight innings.
Rishabh Pant to top score for Delhi against Kolkata
“I think Rishabh Pant, the skipper. I am a massive fan of him since he can hit down the ground so strongly, but he is also so dainty around the wicket since he can hit those nimble fours and sixes. So it’s Rishabh Pant for me. Hopefully, he has got a lot more to him because he has got so much talent, Rishabh Pant,” Binga heaped praise on the Delhi skipper.
Retained as a captain for the rescheduled Indian T20 League ahead of Shreyas Iyer, Binga feels the southpaw will hold the edge over Kolkata at Sharjah. Pant has a strike rate of 147 when facing Kolkata in the Indian T20 League and will hope to fork out a commanding display against the in-form side next week.
Mohammad Shami, the best bowler in Mumbai vs Punjab clash
“I am going to go with Mohammad Shami. The ball is coming out nicely, and he is getting a little bit of movement off the wicket. Abu Dhabi does offer a little bit for the quicks. So to me, it will be Mohammad Shami, ” Brett Lee concluded
With 11 wickets across nine matches in the ongoing Indian T20 League, Mohammad Shami has played a major role for Punjab with the new ball. Shami is expected to lead Punjab's attack in this crucial clash, according to the Australian quick.
